I am interested in understanding how metabolism shapes ecological interactions among bacteria - most notably through release of metabolic intermediates to the environment - and what are the consequences of these interactions on evolution. To address these questions, I combine microbiology, microbial ecology and evolution experiments with computational modeling, with particular focus on constraint-based metabolic models.
