Yale EEB has a vibrant community of postdoctoral scholars, and we are always excited to have new postdocs join us!
Much like joining the department as a graduate student, the first step in becoming a postdoc in the department is to reach out to a faculty member whose research interests most overlap with your own. When emailing a faculty member, always remember to introduce yourself, explain how your research interests align with theirs, and attach your CV.
Not all faculty will have independent funding available to support post-doctoral scientists. Individuals can pursue, and receive, independent funding to support post-doctoral work. There are many opportunities available for post-doctoral funding, including external sources like the NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. You may also want to consider applying to become a Donnelly or Hutchinson postdoctoral fellow in the department.
Some open postdoc positions are advertised on the Opportunities page; however, the most reliable way to find out about openings is to contact the relevant faculty member.
Our department welcomes postdocs from all countries, and more information on visas and joining the Yale community as an international scholar can be accessed through the Office of International Students and Scholars.
