I am interested in both the genotypic and phenotypic responses of populations to changes in local environment. I use various molecular techniques to quantify expression and differentiation changes among metapopulation lineages. I focus on the population genetics of plankton communities in lakes to ask questions about intraspecific diversity, genotype/phenotype feedbacks, and population dynamics. My research is motivated by examining eco-evolutionary feedbacks and uncovering potential evolutionary pathways for adaptation to climate change. Additionally, I value translational research that is accessible to the K-12 science curriculum.
